Expand your imaging capabilities
Philips offers a range of nuclear medicine imaging systems, including state-of-the-art Precedence SPECT/CT, versatile BrightView SPECT and GEMINI PET/CT.
The hybrid systems combine functional and anatomical information in a single scan to provide enhanced localization and molecular insight into bone structure anomalies. There is increased clinical efficiency with single procedure multimodality acquisition, processing, and review capabilities. BrightView SPECT bone scans are an affordable alternative for localized blood flow data.
Bone scanning is particularly useful for detecting stress or fatigue fractures in physically active people, such as athletes and children. In addition, orthopedic indications for bone scanning are:
- Infection in or loosening of prosthetic joints
- Occult bone pain with normal X-ray exam
- Assessment of possible joint disease
- Detection and staging of metastatic bone disease
SPECT/CT
Enhanced localization and molecular insight into anomalies of bone structure
Our Precedence SPECT/CT delivers co-registered SPECT and CT images in one exam. By combining SPECT and CT into a single "dual dataset" to characterize orthopedic pathology, Precedence puts a powerful tool in your hands, providing new opportunities to manage some of the most challenging musculoskeletal medical conditions.
Precedence can be used for SPECT/CT studies, CT-only studies, and SPECT-only studies, depending on your need.
By offering full diagnostic CT capabilities, it allows you to expand the system’s imaging potential and maximize usability. In orthopedics and sports related medicine, the Precedence system can help physicians identify conditions not seen with other imaging systems.
Increased diagnostic confidence
The finer slice thickness (0.6 mm) of Precedence in combination with high spatial resolution (24 lp/cm) facilitates greater diagnostic confidence, even with fractures.
- Increased clinical efficiency
- Single-procedure multimodality acquisition, processing, and review capabilities of the Precedence provide increased clinical efficiency.
SPECT
The BrightView SPECT system has a wide range of innovations to help you manage patient care. BrightView is a fully featured variable angle camera differentiated by exclusive CloseUp technologies—enabling higher resolution by minimizing the distance between its advanced detector electronics and the patient. The advantage of the BrightView SPECT imaging system is that the detector heads are flexible in patient positioning—a plus in orthopedic studies.
In PET/CT, the Philips GEMINI PET/CT systems have the flexibility to also perform orthopedics procedures. Bone scans are performed using F18 radiotracer.
Whatever the requirement, Philips has the proper imaging solution to expand your orthopedic practice.
